ABOUT US

The PTA, as I’m sure you well know, is an organisation of parents & school staff whose role it is to encourage closer links between home & school. PTA's are best known for fundraising but they have useful social functions too.

Fundraising events provide opportunity for parents, carers, staff & pupils to come together. As parents you can have a direct influence on the experiences your child has whilst in school by showing a commitment, however small that commitment may be, to the PTA. We want to help to plant the seeds for our children & to watch the small buds blossom & grow. The role of teaching & support staff is to nurture the children whilst in the school environment, to help our children achieve their full potential & leave the school environment having had a well-rounded educational & learning experience.

As parents you can help that experience along & assist the school & staff in their efforts to offer our children a fabulous experience both educationally & socially. And one of the best ways to do that is by volunteering for your PTA.

Put aside the stigma attached to most PTA's of a bunch of woman only interested in idly chatting & not listening to new ideas or letting new people in. We are a fresh new group with a vast wealth of life skills & educational & business knowledge between us. We want to bring new & exciting fundraising ideas & events to the parents & children of Acton Park Primary. Yes! We want to fulfill our fundraising goals but we also want to ensure the children have lasting memories of events & activities they got to enjoy & be part of during their time at the school & look back safe in the knowledge that their own parents played a part in that. We look forward to you becoming a part of the Acton Park Primary PTA team in the coming months.

SECRETARY - Nicola Matthias has a child currently in Year 4 Juniors

TREASURER - Kristy Mostyn has a child currently in Year 4 Juniors & Year 1 Infants

Staff involvement currently lies with Mr A Peters, Deputy Head (Joint Vice Chair Feb 2014) & Mrs Rachel Lloyd, Early Years Teacher
