​Happy New Year to you all from the PTA
We are now looking onwards & upwards to the 2014 part of this academic year & so to new & fresh PTA ideas & events.
We are always looking for volunteers & new PTA members who can bring enthusiasm & effort to the table.
If you feel you can offer even just a little time to any forthcoming events please do get in touch, we don't expect you to be all singing, all dancing or even be able to offer hour upon hour of your time we just ask that you bring a willingness to try so that your children & the children of Acton Park Primary will benefit from funds raised & look back at their time at the school with fond memories of the events they got to participate in & the fabulous tools they were given as a result of funds raised.
Yellow Moon Craft Supplier Catalogues - Spring Catalogues to be released March 2014

​Some of you may already be aware of the fantastic online craft supplier Yellow Moon, we are pleased to announce that Acton Park Primary PTA are working in conjunction with them to raise funds for your school.
Free Catalogues will be came home with each child the week of November 18th 2013. A new catalogue for the spring season will be coming out to you all in the coming weeks, keep an eye out for it in your children's school bags. Please have a look through the catalogue at the fabulous craft, educational & gift ideas Yellow Moon have to offer.
Please DO NOT feel forced to make purchases from the catalogue or online, however all that we ask is that if you do infact want to purchase you will notice that your catalogue has a unique school code on the front. Should you chose to purchase from Yellow Moon directly you will be urged to use the unique code to ensure the school then receive up to 20% cashback on purchases. The school/PTA then receive funds twice a year from Yellow Moon reflective of the purchases made by parents using the school code & those funds will be utilised to aid your childs time in Acton Park Primary School.
All purchases are made directly via Yellow Moon, NOT the School. Either online, by phone or fax & you pay Yellow Moon direct as you would with any other catalogue or online purchase, then your purchase is sent directly to your home address (or delivery address). SIMPLE! :)

​It's hard to believe the end of our first half term for 2014 is almost upon us, so get your glad rags on & dancing shoes out & let the children let their hair down!
Dance the night away for only £2 entry on the door.
Both Infant & Junior discos will take place in the Junior Hall.
A fab event enjoyed by all the children who attended & raising a massive £552 on the night!!! Thank you for your support!
Easter Eggstravaganza

Tickets will be distributed via class teachers to children Friday 4th April
Refreshments will be available on the night

An annual event that has always proven a popular evening out with the children. Come along & support the school whilst having fun with the children.
What a truly fun & fabulous evening! We managed to raise an astounding £755.60 on the night!!! Thank you for your support!

Friday 4th April Non Uniform Day - bring an Easter Egg to take part, your support of this is greatly appreciated.
An extended thank you to all who donated an egg for the non uniform day, we were inundated with eggs & overwhelmed by the sheer generosity. The eggs donated helped to create prizes for the fantastic Easter Bingo Night - funds raised detailed above.
Easter Eggstravaganza Junior & Infant Department Competitions;
Juniors; Decorate an Egg competition
£1 per entry with fabulous prizes to be won. Entries to be returned Monday 7th April, remember to clearly mark with your name & class.
Infants; Decorate a Hat competition. £1 per entry with fabulous prizes to be won. Entries to be returned Thursday 10th April, remember to clearly mark with your name & class.
Both competitions are aimed at setting your creative juices flowing. Competition information sheets have been sent out by class teachers.
Competition entries will be displayed in the Junior Hall from 2.30-4pm Thursday 10th April for all to see, Winners will be clearly marked & will be presented with their prizes in school assembly Friday 11th April. Come along & see all the wonderful creations & see if you're a winner!!!

Family Quiz Night
Gresford Colliery Club, Wrexham

​We know how tricky it can be to get babysitters on a Friday night so why not have the best of both worlds, a great night out & bring the family along too. A family quiz night is a great time to be had by all, child questions in each round will mean you'll be glad you brought the children along. Spot prizes to be won on the night too.
£3 per adult & £2 per child which includes entry into the quiz.
Tickets will be on sale Wednesday 7th May from the Junior Hall entrance. First come first served basis as numbers are limited, so this is a ticket only event.
Bar will be open & snacks will be available.
Acton Park Primary Summer Fete
Saturday 5th July 12.30-4.30pm
An all round family fun day out!!!
This will be a summer event like none ever seen at Acton Park Primary!
Come along & join in the fun, games, thrills & spills.
Plans are very much afoot to make this an outstanding event to see the academic year 2013/2014 out with a bang!
We are currently on the look out for gazebos & marquees for use on the day.
Facepainters & entertainers who are willing to give up their time to help raise funds for the school whilst also marketing themselves to a large school population & great area of Wrexham.
Also any businesses or individuals who feel they can support the event either via sponsoring stalls at the event or providing raffle prizes are always welcome!
And any parents willing & able to give their time to the cause & help out on the day, our voluteers are always appreciated & we promise the day will be a lot of fun, not just a chore.

Teacher Appreciation Day - May 6th 2014 - a celebration of the amazing teaching staff at Acton Park Primary School

​Something that is very much celebrated in the USA & something that we as a PTA group felt we should touch on this year. May 6th is officially 'Teacher Appreciation Day' & the children helped to create some beautifully unique Teacher Appreciation/Knowledge Trees for their teachers & support staff. Members of the PTA took the trees along with some yummy cakes for them all to enjoy to the infant & junior assemblies & presented them to the staff. Some lovely poems were read by a Year 6 student & were appreciated by all staff.
Sports Day - Monday 23rd June or alternative date (weather dependant) Tuesday 24th June 2014
Acton Park PTA will be selling drinks at both the Infant & Junior Sports Day events this year. Please support the PTA. All funds will be used for the children.
£169.80 was raised from refreshments sold & Sports Day, as ever, was a fantastic success!
